Mount Zion CME

Founded in 1896 as a humble Sunday School in the home of Mrs. Vermie Smart, Mt. Zion CME Church has stood for over a century as a pillar of faith, family, and community. From Rev. Harding, our first minister, to Rev. Alfred S. Parker, Jr., appointed in 2015, generations of pastors have shepherded this congregation with devotion and vision. In 1928, our congregation marched triumphantly into a new sanctuary, complete with a grand pipe organ and radiant stained-glass windows donated by friends and auxiliaries. Since then, Mt. Zion has continued to grow, serve, and shine as a beacon of hope.
